My Heart and Passion
My heart and passion in ministry is to love God with all my heart, lead others to know Him and love all with grace and encouragement. The great commandment (Matthew 22:37-39) and the great commission (Matthew 28:18-20) truly drive my life. I try not to impose a static mold on anyone's spiritual journey, but instead walk along with people where they are helping them to grow in knowing Jesus. Having a diverse experiential and educational background that makes this possible. I graduated from a Wesleyan high school, attained my Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from Auburn University, graduated with a Master of Divinity degree from a Presbyterian seminary and served in a Baptist church for 8 years. Although I am flawed as anyone, I try my best to meet people in life without judgement, while holding firmly to the truth of God's word. My heart's desire is that my life reflect Christ and when all is said and done He will know me by the life I have lived (Philippians 1:21).
My wife is the love of my life and we have two beautiful children, Tyler and Megan. Melanie and I were married in January 1997 in Atlanta, GA. We met as DJ's at WEGL Auburn University's campus radio station. My first ministry is to my family. We spend time together as much as possible playing, laughing, crying and living life together.
