What to Expect

Article Pic The first time you go into a new environment can be intimidating no matter what it is, and we want to do our best to put you at ease and make you feel at home. The only thing we'll ask of you is simple: relax. You're with friends. Whether you've been here hundreds of times or just today, whether you're a seasoned church veteran or you've never been in church before, you can anticipate an encouraging and enlightening experience.

What To Wear

WayPoint has a very casual atmosphere.  You should wear what you feel comfortable in worshiping God.  You will not be judged or condemned for a casual clothing or dressing up a bit.  Please keep it modest and tastefull, but don't stress about the right thing to wear.  We are coming together to celebrate God, not our fasion sense.

What Time To Show Up

Article Pic Our current Sunday morning service begins at 10:30am.  We have fresh donuts and coffee on hand each week, so you might want to show up a few minutes early.

What Type Service Is It

We describe it as progressively traditional.  Our desire is to be faithful to the practices of the church in the book of Acts and stay relevant with our culture today.  The music incorperates a blend of old and new with a style that is very modern with a band of 1-5 peices.  Typically we take communion each week, but sometimes it will be replaced by another practice such as advent.  The messages are biblically based, christ centered, life changing and culturally relevant.  One person stated this way, "Pastor Lance does a great job of talking to me and not at me."

High Fives?

Many churches have a mundane greeting time where you are obligated to shake hands with people around you.  At WayPoint we see one aspect of the service as a celebration of what God is doing in the world and our community.  So we high five.  This can be awkward, we understand, but it is so much fun when you get into it.  Think of your favorite Cardinal making a big play and you turn to those around you in the stands high fiving in celebration.  Same thing for God on Sunday morning.
